I became a midwife to protect the sanctity of pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.

Pregnancy is just the beginning to a lifetime of making really tough choices. When invited, I get to help you navigate the journey. I practice from a mentality that is not fear-based, nor midwife-centered.

I am sick of seeing woman be abused and neglected by the medical system. It seems we can't as much go in for a routine check-up without being made to feel less-than, and frankly - violated. We often trust the people we have hired to take care of us, treat us, keep us safe and rescue us. But we don't need rescuing. We need encouragement and loving education. We need to be listened to and to be seen. We need sovereignty and a little fucking respect.

My philosophy: Birth is best when left undisturbed. I trust in the process of physiological birth and the power within women. Women deserve to be heard, not dismissed. Knowledge is key, but harnessing your innate wisdom is where the true power resides. YOU are always the expert of your own body and your baby. 

 

My hope is for you to realize the most amazing joys of being a woman through your pregnancy, the birth of your baby (+ a new you!) and your postpartum.
